Norwegian daze poppers Great News start 2018 off brilliantly with the release of their blissfully raucous new DGAF anthem ‘Told’, the third fuzzed-out gem off their forthcoming debut LP Wonderfault. A sonic nod to the ’80s and ’90s (The Charlatans, The Stone Roses), the hazy alt-bop relies on the group’s backbone garage rock spirit, with Even Kjelby’s rowdy vocal getting a lift from a wash of sing-along gang back-up vocals. The stirring cut is a prime anthem for today’s generation of young adults opting to chase passions & dreams over more standard routes to happiness.

“Growing up today, we are repeatedly told to focus on the future, have kids, get married and earn lots of money to achieve true happiness, like that’s the only way of solving the puzzle of life,” they share of the song’s concept. “Fuck that. Do what you want, not what you’re told.” tweet
