Crystal Castles, recognized for their distinct and experimental synth sound, is set to release their new LP, Amnesty (I) on August 19 through Fiction Records.

“Char” features new vocalist, Edith Frances who brings her hauntingly mysterious aesthetics into a poetic sound, illustrating her delicacy in duo collaboration with the romantic rhythms of producer and songwriter Ethan Kath. This track evokes our curiosity about their upcoming album even more.

Char brings about a retro nostalgia in contrast to their release of “Concrete”, which resonates more with their earlier works from 2012, showcasing their brassy, bold witch house theme.

Ever since childhood, Olivia has developed a deep connection with music, through what felt like annoying piano lessons to sneaking out to support various acts by local musicians in Aurora, Ontario. Growing up with the influences of motown and classic rock, nu-disco and dreamy retro synthpop, she passionately supports Canadian music, and is always on the look out for up and coming international sensations. When she’s not at a concert, Olivia enjoys exploring the city, binging on HBO, or stuck in a book at a local coffee shop.
