Rising from the roots of London, Ontario, this feel-good indie rock band, LOST IN JAPAN was founded by the front man, Addison Johnson (Lead Guitar/Vocals) in late 2016 and includes Chris Hoekstra (Rhythm Guitar/Backing Vocals), Nolan Peake (Bassist), and James Wiseman (Drums). The first time I heard this song, I was amazed that it wasn’t already extremely well known and soon found out that this is only the beginning for this vibrant, mature sounding band. The amount of progress this band has made in such a short amount of time definitely foreshadows the success that’s going to come for them in the future.

‘Ghost & The Wolf’ – Out May 19

‘Animal’, a single that premiered on April 30th, is a track off of their upcoming EP ‘The Ghost & The Wolf’, coming on May 16th. This tune is definitely a radio-ready hit comparable to seasoned acts like Imagine Dragons and Walk The Moon.

There is incredible guitar throughout the entire song, the beat gets you nodding your head and you’re hit with an unforgettable hook and Addison’s flawless vocals. Not only will you be shouting along to the lyrics by the third listen, but it’s one of those tunes that can change your mood instantly. The music video is carefully filmed and well produced, featuring beautiful time-lapses of sunsets, concert crowds, and other moments that put the light in your eyes.

Lost In Japan dropped their second single ‘Wake Up’ this past Friday and many aspects of it are beautiful, from the imagery in the video to the calming guitar. When you listen to it, I urge you to pay close attention to the lyrics because they’re remarkably introspective and completely mesmerizing. This song sucks you in and you find yourself absolutely lost in it for 4 minutes and 38 seconds.
