Peter Matthew Bauer, founding member of seminal New York band The Walkmen and The Recoys, released his brand new 11-track solo album, “Liberation!” yesterday (June 24th). On the album is the song, “Philadelphia Raga”. The track begins with an intro that’s 1 min, 30 seconds of guitar featured melody which them moves into an up-beat folk-rock acoustic adventure!

The debut album, “Liberation!” is a collection of mostly autobiographical songs on the topic of belief and its various incarnations and phenomena. It touches on such subjects as growing up in a Hindu Yoga cult, Scientology, the city of Philadelphia, the God Shiva, the city of Varanasi, Richard Dawkins and Jorge Luis Borges, and was heavily influenced by the work of Roberto Bolaño & Elvis Presley.
