Small Black (New York) have recently unveiled their newest single called “Boys Life” from their upcoming album titled “Best Blues” (releases October 16). The new song flirts along similar lines of previous dreamy synth-pop tracks like “No Stranger”, “Free At Dawn” and “Lines of Lattitude (hear them all below), but is slightly up-tempo.

Small black solidified a place in my top bands when I saw them put forth a very strong performance back at NXNE in 2014 at The Garrison in Toronto (even though the vocals were low the entire show). Thankfully, the NYC foursome will be back in Toronto and will also be back at The Garrison this coming November 8th with Painted Palms (hear their new single “Disintegrate” here). One can only hope The Garrison sound guy is at the top of his game this time around, either way, it’s bound to be a great show with those two bands playing! Get tickets to see Small Black in Toronto here!
