Qallunaat & Odemin, the latest from WHOOP-Szo (Adam Sturgeon, Kirsten Palm, Gnathan and Starr Campagnaro). It’s a double album, recorded mostly in the village of Salluit, in the Québécois part of the Canadian Arctic. Sturgeon and Palm ran a screen-printing program with Inuit youth during alongside the recording.

Throughout both albums you’ll hear sound samples from the residents and the nature around them. At times while listening to both albums (especially Odemin) I felt as If I was drifting away into a welcomed psychedelic lullaby.

Pt 1: Qallunaat tracks not to miss:
#5, “Has it Been So Long” and (the really long title), #7, “They have built their nests, in the chimneys of my heart; those swallows that you’ve lost”.

Pt. 2: Odemin tracks not to miss:
#2 “Whale Songs”
