The just released song, “Hometown Vigilanteens” from Brantford Ontario Musician, Cyanide Canaries (Khalil Stemmler) is an eye-opener! It’s got a fun beat influenced electro swing vibe with a catchy surf guitar riff. It’s an instant candidate for me to test out at my weekly DJ event.

Cyanide Canaries tends to fall within the genre of trip-hop and alternative-electronic although there are a lot of influences from Surf rock and jazz pop. He writes and records all the music himself and relies heavily on samples of guitars and drum that he creates on his own.

At just 18 years old, this talented young man is already armed with a few fist fulls of tracks even beyond the new album that he just put out, “Separation Stories”. Stream it from Cyanide Canaries Bandcamp page. Make sure you listen to tracks, “In An Instant”, “Wonderful Wold”, “The Leaving Song” and “Lovers”.
