West Nile
West Nile

Recently, there was a show on my radar in Toronto that I knew that I’d be making the trek up to experience at The Silver Dollar Room. It was an impressive bill which featured Elliott Vincent Jones, Nailbiter, Germaphobes and Scott Hardware, but it was who was opening the night that really got my attention – That band was West Nile! Wavelength added the synth-pop / new wave pair from London, Ontario to play at their 5th Class of 2016 Showcase.

It was the duo’s first official (non-secret) show that they had ever played. West Nile performed with confidence and left the increasingly swelling crowd gasping for more after each song. I specifically remember when I saw them play “Lucifer Baby” (listen lower in post), their performance had the audience erupt with enthusiastic cheers. New and excited fans were pleading the two-sum for more!

After the show was said and done, I was happy I made the drive to see them. It was a fantastic first crack for the young band in front of a live audience!

Make sure you watch for more from West Nile as they’re only really getting started!
