An Interview with “Old Friends” by Pinegrove

“Old Friends,” the opening track on Pinegrove’s superb debut album, Cardinal, from Montclair, New Jersey, blends all of the group’s best qualities.
There’s frontman Evan Stephens Hall’s golden voice with its country-Esque twang, soaring guitars that move up and down, and thoughtful lyrics that unveil themselves more with repeated listens. Zack Levine is the band’s drummer.

Candidates for the 2022 Canadian Folk Music Awards Have Been Selected

The Canadian Folk Music Awards (17th) will be held in Charlottetown, PEI, from April 1 to 3, 2022. We are pleased to announce the nominations for the 2022 Canadian Folk Music Awards from different parts of the world.
The nominees are to honor Canada’s robust, diversified, and internationally known folk music industry. The selection process, which includes a two-stage jury process, is done by more than 100 jurors from throughout the country.

M for Montreal Showcases its Official Selection for 2021

M for Montreal has proven its tenacity by revealing the entirety of the music program for the professional portion of its 16th event. This event will take place in two ways: on online platforms from November 15 – 26 and in-person from November 17 – 19 in Montreal.
This fall, over 20 artists are expected to perform in Montreal. The previously announced artists include Gus Englehorn, Ghost Woman (AB), Julien Sagot, Nate Husser.
