Pridemore, Brook<\/strong>: A few years ago, my grandmother reminded me that when I was a youngster, I would stay in front of the TV, playing with toys or anything else. I’d tune out the shows but tune in to sing along with the advertisements. I don’t recall that, but as I grew older, I remember desiring to sing. Like Nirvana or Boyz II Men, I longed to be a musician.<\/p>\n But, because I only fit in with other geeks, and it would be generations before being a geek was deemed excellent, I didn’t think I could join a rock group. I used to believe that Rock & Roll was something you had to be born into. I first heard They Might Be Giants in the winter of 1993. Upon the stage, they were dressed casually, and the guitarist wore spectacles. The most outstanding feature was that their lyrics were about anything other than drugs and sex.
