From the vocal-only attraction of “Every Night Has an Ending” to the energetic zeal of “Blow Away the Morning Dew,” the album boasts a variety of hits.<\/p>\n
“A year or so ago, my wife brought home a book called “The Seeds of Love” produced by the English Folk Music and Dance Society,” Barrett said of the album’s influences.<\/p>\n
Barrett says that he was instantly taken with how lovely the book was, and the music from the book made up a significant portion of his album. In many cases, he was unfamiliar with the music and merely read the verses from the page, waiting for a tune that he believed fit the text.<\/p>\n
He previously heard the music and opted to play it with the traditional tune for others who didn’t. He had wanted to make a record with a conventional vibe, a “true folk record,” for a long time, and this book was a huge help.
